6/14/14 Theater und Grazathlon

Yesterday the family and I went out for lunch and ate pizza.

Afterwards we went to the Next Liberty children's theater to watch a funny play called "Frerk, du Zwerg."

On the way home we realized that today was the Grazathlon, an obstacle course race that winds through the city.  This was the obstacle on the Hauptplatz:

We decided to wait around a bit to watch the runners come by, so I photographed the Rathaus a bit.

There was an English-language Austrian cover band playing music while we waited.

We also bought ice cream.

The ice cream cones were made into flowers.  You could choose as many flavors as you want.  I chose chocolate, vanilla, and nougat.

The first runner.

I accidentally photographed one of my students standing near the statue.  I ran into her on the bus home.

This picture got a lot of likes on Facebook for some reason.

There was also a regional festival of some sort going on in one of the courtyards, lots of folks wearing dirndl and lederhose.  There was also a Holi festival, Multikulti Ball, and a culinary showcase event that evening, so there were lots of people wandering around downtown.
